Douglas Grant (Teacher)

Douglas “Doug” Grant recently worked as a substitute teacher at Randolph Field Independent School District (ISD) in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to this position, he spent more than a decade as a middle school US history teacher at Northside ISD, also in San Antonio, where he taught both sixth- and eighth-grade students. Additionally, Douglas Grant spent 14 years as a school counselor, in which role he drew on his humor and creativity to reach the students and later parlayed those attributes into his time as an educator.

In his spare time, Mr. Grant enjoys playing video games, collecting Herb Booth prints, and organic vegetable gardening. He also enjoys cooking and baking different types of food and considers himself adventurous in the kitchen. He supports several philanthropic endeavors, including the Down Syndrome Association and the Trinity Oaks Foundation.

An active individual, Doug Grant participates in tennis, golf, waterskiing, skiing, hiking, hunting, archery, and fishing; he once caught a 10-pound bass in the Medina River and a 36-pound ling in the Gulf of Mexico. He has also skied in Utah and Colorado as well as in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
